Postdoctoral position studying fish migrations

We are looking for a postdoctoral scholar to study fish migration. The successful applicant will work with a team of researchers to analyze large salmon and steelhead tracking datasets to understand the rules that guide juvenile fish as they navigate complex waterways on their way to the ocean. This project will merge high-resolution computational fluid dynamics models already under development with data on predator densities along the migration corridor to gain a full picture of how migratory animals interact with predators and the physical environment to reach their final destinations. Prospective applicants should have or be near completion of a PhD in Biology, Ecology, Physics, Mathematics or a related field and have experience with mathematical modeling of biological systems. Interested prospective applicants should Andrew Hein (ahein@ucsc.edu) to apply or inquire about the position.
